Pecan Pie Squares  

Crust:            3 c. flour

                        ½ c. sugar

                        1 c. (2 sticks) butter, soft

                        ½ t. salt

Mix together crust ingredients until resembles coarse crumbs.  Press firmly and evenly into greased 15 x 10 pan.   Bake at 350 for 20 min.

Filling:            4 eggs

                        1 ½ c. light or dark corn syrup

                        1 ½ c. sugar

                        3 T. butter, melted

                        1 ½ t. vanilla

                        2 ½ c. chopped pecans

Combine filling ingredients.  Spread over hot crust.  Bake at 350 for 25 min. or until set.  Cool.  Cut into squares
